Finding the roof unlocked again, a few of us went back up today to throw off the rubber bouncy ball.
The bounce was disappointing, I don't think it was dense or heavy enough to really pick up a good head of steam, and it only bounced back up to about the 3rd floor or so, despite an 11-storey drop.
Anyway, the view was nice today, so I snapped this picture, as I of course have my camera with me at work today.
For those who don't know Portland, well - the blue water, that's obviously the Atlantic Ocean, with a few outlying islands in the mix. The green roof on the bottom left belongs to the childhood home of Henry Wadsworth Longfellow. The Maine History Museum adjoins the house, and is the building that occupies most of the bottom of the frame.
The building crawling up the left side of the frame is called the "Time and Temperature Building", as a digital display showing both is on the roof. And that's the actual name of the building.
If you look at the two "taller" buildings at the very center of the frame, well the one on the left is my old office, where I worked until June. TD Banknorth, my current employer, occupies every floor of the building on the right. In fact it's our Corporate Headquarters.
Not much else of note there, I guess. Any Elvis Presley fans? See the stadium that goes off the frame on the right? That's where Elvis was scheduled to play a show later in the evening on the day he was found dead!
