and I think to myself, what a wonderful world

Hope no one's got any friends or family members who are only permanent US residents as opposed to born citizens, cuz if they get arrested, they're fucked.

:::ETA:::

Okay, so I was going to just let this go, but then I read this:

But anyways People that continue to listen to bias' of our media are missing the point. The point is, is that George Bush knows and has clearence to observe and discern so many issues that we will never know. And having our self-righteous attitudes, that we know better and know more and have the ability to make the decisions he is forced to make, is absolutely sad. He is doing the best he can, and it is better than we could ever do, in my belief atleast.

Source? A Facebook group called "I Beat George Bush on the SAT." (trillian42, I believe you are a memeber of this group as well? hehe) And naturally, I didn't edit this comment at all. Directly cut and pasted.

Just one question: since when did being President of the United States put you above scrutiny? Nixon was forced to resign (Republican). Clinton was impeached (Democrat). The axe clearly swings both ways, so why should George W. Bush be immune? Why do so many people feel the need to defend and justify and excuse what we all see as mistakes? (Okay, so that was three questions.) He's the President of the United States; it's not supposed to be an easy job, or a job that just anyone could do. That's why millions of people turn out to vote for one person. If you hire a nanny for your kids, you expect a certain caliber of performance. They're your children, after all. You hold that nanny to a certain accountability. If the nanny let one of your kids drink bleach, you wouldn't say, "Oh it's okay, s/he did the best s/he could." All I'm saying is it would be nice if someone somewhere held Mr. Bush accountable.

And I'm done.
