Adorable new kittens
We have decided to call him Cody. He's such a cutie. He is less skittish around hands now and likes to be petted, but sudden movements and getting too near his face send him running. He's also very skittish around feet. He's explored the entirety of the first and second floors so far. I locked him in the office last night to be safe, because I didn't quite trust Zane. Yesterday evening Zane decided that Cody was an excellent toy to chase around the house. They went up the stairs, down the stairs, around the first floor, and down the stairs before Cody had had enough, stopped, and hissed. I'd already started to intervene, so I grabbed Zane and held on to him for a while. Cody likes him, but he's intimidated by his size. I can't say I blame him.
I let Cody out when I got up this morning, and he and Zane have been playing on and off all morning. I've had to squirt Zane several times for pigging out on kitten food and just being overbearing and a bit obnoxious, but I have not heard any hissing today. I have bedsheets over the plush office chairs to discourage scratching, and hiding and poking at each other under the chairs seems to be their favorite game so far. Cody is still mewing a lot, mostly when he's wandered off by himself, and I am guessing that he's trying to find other cats. Zane is a bit intimidating, and he spent the last month in a room with 15 other cats. Overall, I am very pleased with how well he is doing.
