Animal magnetism

I've got animal magnetism in spades today.

Zane wouldn't leave me alone and let me sleep this morning (which was NOT cute). Kale was curled up at the foot of the bed until I woke up, at which point he demanded cuddles. As he hadn't been annoying me, I was happy to oblige.

I took out the trash earlier before running errands and found a very pretty husky/malamute sniffing around the bushes. He was incredibly friendly, but I had no idea who he belonged to because there weren't any humans in sight. His dog license was for the next town over. I called the number on his RFID tag, but just before we hung up and they were going to call the owners, two young guys came up to claim him. The poor dog didn't want to go! It was really quite funny, even the guys were amused, especially when I walked to my car and the dog started following me. Pretty girl who pets me, or two grungy guys who are going to lock me up again. Hrm, tough choice there. :)

Then when I got home I took the recycles out and passed by the neighbor's outdoor cat who was sitting on her front porch. She came trotting up to me and demanded cuddles too! I stayed for a few minutes, scratching and rubbing, and when I stood up to go back to my house, she followed me. Then she felt the need to strut around outside my front window, teasing my indoor cats. She sat on my front stoop after I went inside, hoping I'd come back out and having a staring contest with Zane in the meantime.

And now Zane is curled up in my lap, purring like a fiend.

In the boring news category for today, I got charcoal/pastels for drawing class tomorrow, some groceries, and returned the canned urinary tract formula cat food that Kale wouldn't eat to the vet.
