My journal is not broken
Good morning world. Sorry I've been so quiet lately. I guess I just haven't felt like I've had much to say, although that doesn't make sense because I do, actually.
Last week, sajuka and I took our trip to Orlando, taking advantage of 4 nights in a Hilton Grand Vacation Club for $167 total. We had to sit through 15 minutes of hard sell after a nice tour of the property and explanation of how the program works, but fortunately we got that out of the way first thing and had the rest of the time to relax and enjoy ourselves. The suite we got was almost as big and probably a little nicer than our apartment, and all of 10 minutes from Disney. Tuesday evening we went to dinner with jedimara77. Wednesday afternoon, after the timeshare tour, we went over to Downtown Disney and wandered around until about 6, when we left to change and headed to Arabian Nights for dinner. It's a dinner show concept much like Medieval Times, though much hokier than we expected. Their terrible crowd control almost made this Industrial Engineer weep, but the show was entertaining, and they had a unicorn!! Thursday they predicted rain, so rather than go to Universal or MGM we decided to try DisneyQuest in Downtown Disney. It never did rain, but DQ was cheaper and fun. It's basically 5 floors of arcades, but you pay your entry price and all the games are free. We even took a digital art class and drew Donald Duck! We ate lunch at House of Blues - ohmyGod the cornbread muffin was out of this world delicious! We went to Planet Hollywood for dinner, and fortunately got there just before all of the young women of Orlando showed up in order to go club hopping at Pleasure Island. And Friday we went to Disney World! We spent the whole day at the Magic Kingdom, and it was so much fun! I have lots of photos and even some videos. I just need to download them from the camera! We got home Saturday around noon.
Tuesday, celiskywalker and I went to a gaming store in Malden and bought a couple of miniatures for our D&D game. I gave Sajuka two bears (one rubber, one I hand made from Sculpey) and an Elf Warrior for Valentine's Day. I picked up a female rogue for my Pixie.
Wednesday for the most part was crap. The weather sucked - snow, sleet, then rain and flooding. My mood sucked. I skipped an important meeting on campus. Oh yeah, and I woke up at 5 and couldn't get back to sleep, so I just got up anyway. But Wednesday evening we met up with dancer and tk7602 at Border's and had a really nice time chatting with them.
Yesterday was Valentine's Day. I got flowers!! Half a dozen white roses, with some purple garnishes of some sort. Oh yes, and a bag of Cherry Cordial kisses. :) (I got a bag of Dark Chocolate Raspberry for Sajuka, so we have lots of kisses in the house right now!) He made dinner, and while the menu wasn't anything special, any night that I don't have to cook is special to me. Then we watched Night at the Museum, which was our current Netflix movie. It was funny! I'd say even better than I dared to hope.
And today is Friday. Up early again, couldn't sleep. Oh well. I get so much more done when I don't sleep all morning. :p
