Costumes
My Mara Jade costume was accepted for 501st Legion membership, so I'm officially a Sith Lord now, as well as an Officer! That was exciting to hear. :)
I ordered some black raw silk online last week for Luke's RotJ vest. Our garrison is doing a big local Halloween parade in two weeks, and they are doing a RotJ theme. They built a huge foam Jabba which looks amazing, and will have Max Rebo, his keyboard, Slave Leia (who's probably going to freeze her chains off...), Rystall, Bib Fortuna, Boba Fett, and they asked Sajuka to do Luke - hence the new vest. I got the muslin mock-up half done, and just need to find some time to work on it. It shouldn't take more than a couple of hours - it's pretty simple.
We've also been working on Halloween costumes this year. A friend of ours in the garrison throws a party every year and forbids Star Wars costumes, so we've not been able to go yet. This year we're making an effort. We're working on Raven and Slade from Teen Titans. I have most of my parts either in hand or on the way - I just need to do some cutting, sewing, and gluing. And figure out how to approximate really pale gray legs, since Raven doesn't exactly get much sun. (Not that I do either, but I'm not that pasty colored...) Sajuka's is a bit more vague right now, but he is making progress. The mask/helmet is the tough part.
