April Fools are the one's who didn't show up.
If you were not at the April Fool's Day Massacre Party and live in the Birmingham Area, you missed out...big time. Seriously, you guys. Big time.
Saturday during the day I hung out with Jenn. We even got her some sexy clothes for the party, picked up a Pinata and cake for Cullen, and a couple more prizes for the Easter Egg hunt. I was very upset when I found out that she and Jeremiah were not coming. (I don't know for sure, but while they claim it was because 'they didn't feel well,' I hear that something was said in err to them. Drama Bad! Sexy people Good!)
Easter Egg Hunt: Success. Prizes were fun, dares were fun. It was crazy. I think I missed a bunch of them and it was funny to hear about who ended up doing what later one. One the tamer side, Dean still had signatures on her torso from one of her dares the next day, Ryan bounced around the party wiggling his butt, we got a rousing round of "Names of Penises" going in the living room, and I think Amber's shirt looked very nice on Cullen.
Note to self: Mix up "The Nasty" prior to game and do not let Ryan Cullen do it when you end up needing it on the spot.
Rounds of Red and Black are most fun, but are better with smaller groups. Best mixes are about 50/50. Sorry to anyone who tried to join when the room was full. We tried to get a good circulation going to other people could play, but by that point, we were drunk and organization was lacking.
Note to Self: Type up rules to a few games and have them available on the coffee table in case the hosts are "otherwise occupied." Having another deck of cards and rules for a second group of Black and Red would have been good, but it sounds like the front room found the Twister game and got creative. Woot. I wish I could have been in every room, but there is only one Shwiggity and I was rather drunk by the time the Easter Egg hunt ended.
Future party ideas were being thrown out before the end of the first game. Stoney and a few others approached me with tid bits that we might discuss for future parties. I know that we are talking Jello (or some other substance) wrestling in June perhaps, while having a "Formal" party in May- Perhaps a "Prom Party" to change the pace a bit.
On the down side: I've been told there were some shady dealings going on and I'm going to inquire about it. While both our party locations are at homes that are pretty good for our gatherings, both also have some problems. Problems that I, personally, don't want to get involved with if they get out of hand. If anyone ever sees something "shady" happening at one of our parties, PLEASE let a host know immediately. Finding out the following night does not help too much and, often with our larger parties, its hard to know everything that is going on. Plus, we're going to try and keep an eye on who invites who. While open invitations are fun, having complete strangers there can be a bit difficult should something bad happen. Just be careful! If anyone finds a cell phone that doesn't belong to them, let me know.
Moral of the Party: Our parties are self-serve in more ways than one. If you are not having fun, then make fun (legally please). Don't wait on the life of the party, BE the life of the party.

Friday Night Evil Game ended up not really happening. Doug got home really late, so we just watched Dr Who, munched sammiches and talked until 10 or so.
Sunday Dawn Forge finally saw the end of a rather drawn out dungeon crawl. Semi-interesting, but long battles are my shtick. But, hey, on the plus, I finally got my prestige class and got the first taste of my story to come. Woot.
LARP starts up next Saturday and I believe we're pretty much done with everything. I might actually see if I can't convince James to run a mini-down time for just Dean and I. Might coax her into her character a bit more if its just the two of us. As per usual, probably good to show up a bit early to the first game. James usually has surprises for those that show up after hiatus.
In other news: I started playing the first Kingdom Hearts. I love it so far. I foresee a few evenings full of Cid, Goofy, Squall, Mickey, and Kiari. Woot. I might finish it at about the time I can get a used copy of Kingdom Hearts 2 for a good price.
