In Rare Form: Weddings, Games, and Out-o-Towners

Mar 27, 2006 11:04

Ugh, court week. The anxiety got me pretty bad, but over it for the most part now.

Lots of friends in town this week. Jeffro's been sleeping on our hideaway bed while he's in B'ham. He came down for Kate's wedding. Great spending time with him again, the goof. He's going back to Montgomery today, but back Friday for the April Fools party.

That reminds me:
Drunken Debauchery presents: April Fool's Day Massacre.
When: April 1, 2006 Evening
Where: Ghetto Gettaway (Eric n' Angie's place)
BYOB: Yes
What: We will be hosting the DD Guerrilla Sytle Easter Egg hunt along with other games/activities. Basic idea: People hunt for eggs at the party. Each egg has a slip of paper with either a truth, dare, or drink with a number. Perform the act and you get to keep the slip. When you leave, cash in your slips to see if you win one of prizes as provided by the Shwiggity!
Theme: Suggested Pimps and Ho's I believe, encouraged.

I'm actually really excited to do this game!

Anyways, so, lots of people are in town. My sister was in for a few days. Had dinner with her, Gib, and the 'rents on Thursday after court. Went out for drinks at Firewater afterwards. She seemed to have a good time with the crew and missed my slip up about Pagans at the Unitarian church. *blink* My sister doesn't know what a unitarian is? *sigh*

Court went alright, btw. We had a TON of people on the docket, judge was tired being the district judge for the week, and the new assistant and Patty got the docket all messed up, but we made it through. Even graduated a few people.

Friday we went out to Club Red and Tantra. I drug Cullen along. I danced, drank, and hung out. Went to Sakura afterwards for some sober up sushi. Man, I'm still a little sore after all the dancing. I really should listen to the warnings when doing those low moves. Ugh. Also talked to Lyndsay at length about all she's going through. Poor girl.

Saturday I bummed around the apartment until the wedding, catching up on Firefly finally. Only a few more episodes to look through to see which one's I missed. Oh, how I love this series even more now! I had to watch it on my computer seeing as the Playstation is on its last leg. Both Dean and James got new memory cards, but I think I'm going to have to just get my own PS2. Everyone says "Wait for the PS3" but I really can't justify buying the new system nor do I think that I'll really get that much a better deal if I wait. Won't do me much good if our current system won't play much of anything right now either. Bah. I might wait. Both Dean and James have their crack on the current PS2 (Predator and DDRMax2). I just want to play Kingdom Hearts finally.

Anyways, so, Mexigro and Jonsey came over before the wedding. Mario heads out for boot camp on April 8, so we got to see him at least a little before he leaves. We had a great time at the wedding, the ceremony held right around the corner at the Unitarian Church. Kate's now hitched to Bill. She looked absolutely beautiful. We drank, danced, and hung out for a while. Got to catch up with Lyndsea and Lauren, Joe, Jack, and Alex, who are now living out of town. They all wanted to hear about Jessy and our trip since they missed meeting her by a week. Plus, Jonsey was so nice, really being a gentleman since we were both their solo. We talked about how we'd want our weddings one day. I really don't know what I'd want now, but when I was little, I wanted to have a ceremony on horse back in the mountains while Jonsey really wants a big celebration. After toasts and a few sweet dances, we sent the happy couple off to Italy and then decided to go for drinks. After the reception at Park Lane, I ran home with the flowers and got changed before heading to the Garage for drinks. I got tired before long and it was too cold to be outside really. Place was pretty cool, but with the weather so crazy, wasn't exactly perfect.

Sunday, I missed seeing my sister again, but she'll be in town all summer. We had lunch at Sabor, Jeffro returning to his old traditional lunch. Then, gaming. I felt ill and just flopped for a good part of the afternoon, but we pretty much got all our down time stuff done. I really don't like James' storytelling style. When Cullen mentioned he ST's similarly, I'm a bit put off. I really like Nadia, but both Dean and I are having problems getting our social-heavy characters involved safely. We'll see. Once Marquis leaves the story for a while, we'll probably get a bit more independent. I just have to figure out a way to take care of Adrienne. Between sections of game, Cullen and I nearly finished the Easter Egg hunt list. Hurray. Jessy called and says to tell everyone hello.

Meaningful Phrase: "Ah, Wedding tradition: Sugar covered rocks. Do we throw these at the bride and groom?"

ps2, game, easter egg hunt, court, dd, larp, lauren, wedding
