Work and Woes

I trudged through a tough, but short week. I continue to have some problems at work, none of which involve clients. I swear, if I just had to deal with clients, mental health would be easy. Unfortunately, we have to deal with families, neighbors, landlords, doctors, payees, banks, service providers and other mental health workers. I can attest that any one of these in the past have caused me and clients headaches beyond reason. Arrrgh. This week we are having problems with part of the financial aspects of the job. I can’t go into details, but the mistakes of a few can cause the fall of many of our clients. *head desk* Top it off with people in charge who have problems taking charge? Egad.

Speaking of idiots, Saturday night I passed out on the couch while Tanner was playing Fable (which is so awesome). I awoke some time later to Ryans and others returning from LARP. Apparently, our punk next door neighbors were in a fight and busted out their window. Then threw a beer bottle at Robert (which shattered on the ground). They continued fighting through the night, me and our guests having to quickly run upstairs to the gathering at James’. We called the cops who arrived about an hour later, when I was in bed. They were accusative of me for taking so long and being hesitant to open the door (remember, violent drunks next door?) When I told them I’d called them, they ignored me and muttered about no one wanting to talk… despite being right in front of them. Our neighbors were given a light warning and left. The fighting came back, lighter, about 10 minutes later.

So, I popped by to pay rent this morning. I reminded them about my own busted window that I think was caused by the lawn mowers that pass by my windows at 7am. I mention also the fight next door and that another window will probably need to be replaced. She stated, rudely, that the neighbor will have to call and that I would probably have to pay for my window (which no one else had mentioned). She made no note of the fight or the fact that my neighbors are throwing beer bottles at passers. If you live in my apartment building, complain about the noise at G. There’s still a lot of glass out there that G hasn’t cleaned up as the cops told them to.

I finally finished my Dragon Con application and art pieces. I reserved some space if they accept me. Send me some good thoughts and I should hear back in 2 weeks. Tanner’s play, Screw Ups, also starts in 2 weeks and will run each weekend in June. Go, see. Its funny (I think). I’ll give you guys more details later. Also, Taming of the Shrew later this summer and ETC performances to come.

Nicky stayed on our couch last night, watching Food Network and reading Last Unicorn, even helping me with my art scans too. He brought me the bloody lab coat for LARP. Woot.

Tonight I start my second class of Graduate school: Professionalism. Wooooo (Note sarcasm). I also get to meet my new advisor.

Man, we so need to do laundry.

Meaningful Phrase: “I Command you to Pee!”
