Two Months.

Its been quite a while since I updated. Its not for a lack of something to write, that’s for sure. I’m usually so busy, tired, or distracted, that I rarely have the mind to sit down and gather my thoughts. But I find it necessary. I often need to be able to read and reflect back on the events of the past years.

So, what’s been going on since the Christmas holidays?

-Tanner, Girlie Ryan, and Nathan had their birthday on New Years. We had a great evening of drinking and games. I was thrilled to see the surprise in the eyes of both my friends (Nathan was already privy to the party plans). It was so uplifting to Nathan get the chance to cut loose and let down his hair, dancing and singing. We were so busy having fun we just about missed midnight!

-Joe and Nancy visited. So did Hans, Laura, Elisabeth, Lauren, and more! I felt like it was a reunion of people I like! ^_^  Family and friends traded gifts and food and love.

-We had the secret santa swap with friends, but this year we had to make stuff since we were all broke. It was so much fun! Tanner wrote a game module for Kelli, Roscoe made a CD and replaced all the names spoken with Patrick’s name (Hilarious), Girlie Ryan gave a rainy day box to Patricia, Emmy got a crown from Kelli, I gave Roscoe drug pens, NYC books, and a drawing, I got a photo that Jonsey took, and much more. After drinks and food and gifts, we played Nerd Charades. Damn, fun.

-Tanner moved into the apartment with Ryan and I. Jonsey is over a lot of the time. Everyone now has a job. Tanner is working at this attorney’s office across the street from BBC. Jonsey just started working for this cable company, and Ry is working at Fire and Ice. Things are still a bit shakey, working out the kinks in our living situation, but we’ll see. Willow is totally kicking Apple’s butt. Heh.

-I started grad school. I love it. The class is on stats and research, but its made for counselors, so its not all math, but more on concepts. It’s a brand new course, the book isn’t great, but John Dantzler, our prof, is awesome. He’s the ex-husband of the psychiatrist that works on my team too. All is good. Just gotta keep up with my reading. I also have to find three research articles to later review. Man I missed have access to all those journals! I found an article on Qigung and Stress in Counseling students. Can’t wait to finish reading it.

-Work continues to be good. I’m tired when I get home, but I don’t dread the next day. I’m more and more taking on housing responsibilities. We’ve had a lot of rough stuff happening with clients and my first weekend working was written to be horrible, but the fates stepped in and things worked out Friday night. Over all, things continue to go alright, once I get the finances in line.

-I finally got to see Carmina Burana live at Alys Stephens. Mitch got only one ticket and knew Darby would kill him if he went without her… so I went instead. Was amazing, goose bumps and all.

-Valentine’s was a bit odd. We were suppose to go to Firebirds, but the idiots don’t take reservations, so we could get in with a call like they said we could. We ended up at Sweet Bones Alabama. Tanner loved his Jack Daniel’s steak and I loved my seared tuna (after I sent it back and got a not cold/not fishy one). Even on a crazy night, we got great treatment, even with some stumbles and problems. Tasty food too.

-I’ve got my first one on one meditation scheduled. There are a few folks that want me to teach the meditation workshop again, and a few others that one on one sessions. I’m a bit nervous about “therapeutic meditation” but we’ll see how it goes.

-Up coming: I’m trying to get stuff together to show my art at both Imagicon and Dragon Con. I got tickets for Dragon Con and have roomies. I can’t wait for Tanner to go to his first Con! And Patrick and Patricia are always fun (and sane) to spend a con with. Woot. Going to see Wicked on Easter Sunday. School, work, game, life.

So, that’s what sums up 2 months.
