For the record, I should be working on the bazillion things I have due this week, but, a quick LJ update never hurt anyone, right?
Right.
Anywho, I had a great Thanksgiving. I drove down by myself to Indiana to meet my family. It was a long five hours, but gave me a lot of time to reflect. I don't get a lot of time to just think, so it was really nice. And, if you've ever ridden with me, you can just imagine how often I changed the radio station. Yeah. And no one was there to complain! Ahhh...compulsive station changing...it's my drug. I spent a total of 12 hours in the car alone this weekend, and it was great. (not to sound like a loner...but I'm not gonna lie, I enjoyed the time...)
Indiana was a blast - my family is amazing! This time was particularly funny - sometimes I wonder if other families are as dirty as mine. Like, down in the gutter dirty, not like, roll in the mud dirty. It's no wonder that I have the most perverse mind in the world - I get it from every family member of mine over 25. We had a lot of candid conversations - they're so easy to talk to!! My sex life is like an open book. Seriously.
The turkey was amazing, as always. This was my first Thanksgiving knowing I was gluten intolerant, so I had to pass on my favorite dish, stuffing. I know. It was a sad, sad day for me, but I found a new love: yams. YUM. Ahh...yams...mm'mmm. It's making me hungry, despite my satisfying dinner of Reeses and popcorn.
I think I already had my dessert this afternoon. More later, perhaps?
Speaking of, if any of you ladies over the age of 18 are interested, my roommates and I are hosting a Pure Romance party this Thursday (12/1) - let me know if you're interested in the details - the more the merrier!!! Remember - Christmas is coming...buy your gifts now ;-)
I'm at the library trying to get motivation to plan my sex discussion group for tomorrow, and to start (and hopefully finish) a power point for a presentation on Thursday. I pray to the greater power of the Universe that I find some sort of motivation to follow through.
Okay, highlights of the weekend: spending quality time with my entire family, seeing my uncle and younger brother dressed up in one piece pjs (the fuzzy, pastel ones with the footies in them...), hearing my older brother's friend, Hiro, my adopted Japanese bro, sing a proposal song to my sister, "will you marrrry meee...don't hate me because I'm japanese....sorrry about Pearl Harbor....but will you marry meee? I neeed a green card....", amazing evening chats on the cell phone (please contact me if you'd like more explanation for this one...), red wine with the ladies, the six mile hike with my mom, dad, and uncle, sex talks with the aunts: "how old were you when you had your first orgasm!!?", coming back to Mt. Pleasant...
I am thankful for so many things. If you're reading this, there's a good chance you're one of those reasons why I feel so lucky. Thank you.
