Thank goodness that's over! May was so busy, so full of...stuff...that I'm still reeling from it all. But now, school is almost over, so the workshops have slowed, and I'll have many more days at home. I did sub yesterday, getting in a last shot at some extra cash before summer.
Next week is my school visit to my old elementary school. I've just about got the Power Point presentation done, just need to put in a couple more slides, and print up some bookmarks and stuff.
But June is here, and I'm ready to go. I have a bunch of handwritten pages in the Wizard Academies book, and I've been giving some real thought to the whole premise. I should be able to get the first draft done by mid-July. I hope. Then it's back to Mirror. Remember Mirror, the book I started, got halfway through and haven't looked at since? LOL, I was looking over my notes for that again yesterday, and I think I know how to finish it up. I need to not think about anything but the scene I'm writing, and not let myself get all muddled with stuff I want to put in later. Because half the time by the time I get there, the story's different and what I wanted to write just won't work anymore.
And, well, all the illos for RTZ are done and turned over to the editor, the copyedits have gone back, and the Book Tour has been set. I've gotten interview questions from a couple of bloggers, so I have to go start on them soon, so I don't get overwhelmed later, and finish up some promotional odds and ends.
New Harry Potter in just SIX WEEKS! So, like
RHC, I'm gonna try and plow through the first six books before #7 gets here. I may get hung up on #5, but I'm gonna give it a shot. I may give up somewhere along the way and make sure I at least re-read book 6 beforehand.
Later, my lovelies!
