Sorry so long...
But it's been a boring week. A day and a half of teaching, blah blah blah. Testing season is upon us, so there probably won't be much work for me next week or so. I can't administer tests, and they don't hold workshops during testing. I remember March last year, and I didn't do much. April and May will be MUCH busier, since all the year end workshops are then.
In the meantime, I have freelance work to do, and I've recovered enough from the marathon editing to pick up the next Library book again. Chopping up COZ made me realize that I was just spinning my wheels with Mirror, and that I had to cut cut cut, or I was never going to get through this first draft. 25k words that don't say much. So during breaks on Monday I sat with my notebook and wrote a scene progression that gets me where I need to go a lot faster. I even decided to cut a character that I thought I needed, but suddenly decided she wasn't. Out she goes. One less Chinese name for me to remember.
In other book related type news - Talisman of Zandria will be available for purchase during the Book Fair in May at my old elementary school! Yay! I'll be doing a presentation for them on June 8. By which, more likely than not, we'll have the edits all done for Return to Zandria and I'll be able to send ordering information home with them. Pre-ordering if nothing else. Yes, David has the manuscript, and he's ready to start. The illustrator, who I picked myself, and whose gallery you can see here...has started her part. She's already got her first interior done (which I love) and she's working on the cover (which I also love, so far). Lylith's got a very anime-type of style that's very different from the first book. I love both.
And publisher #2 (I think, I forget what numbers I gave everyone) said it was okay to send the revised chapters. Phew, dodged a bullet with that one. I'll never, EVER do that again - I know it's bad form. If they had been small changes, I wouldn't have even worried about it.
No word from anyone about anything else though.
