Whew! Four whole days, so that's what - like thirty two hours - of working on the revisions for CROWN OF ZEUS. Wait. I got the note on Monday, around mid-day, and started right away. I had to work on Thursday. Elementary school, so when I came home I was pretty wiped. 26 third graders. 'Nuff said.
So all day Tues, all day Wednesday, half of Monday, a little on Thursday, and finished up today. Yes, many, many hours. But I had the time, I'm between freelance jobs and we won't start editing RETURN TO ZANDRIA until next week, so I figured better now than dragging it out.
And it's done. The total - 2000 words gone. I cut something like 3500 words from the beginning, a whole chapter. But I added here and there to the end, so that's what it wound up as. It's such a better book too. I e-mailed the other two publishers and asked if they'd like the revised chapters, since both have the first five, which where the biggest change occurred. It may be a faux pas, but it can't hurt to ask, right?
So after I recover, I'm going to take another peek at ANKH OF ISIS, and make sure that I didn't take out anything in the first book that I now have to remove from the second. I know there's a couple of changes I need to make.
This weekend is Hubby's birthday. So tomorrow I'm baking a sour cream chocolate chip cake, and on Sunday, which is the day, I'm cooking the turkey we have in our freezer. Big dinner, all the trimmings.Yum.
And now, I'm spent. Tired, worn out, but victorious in my revision. I need to recharge for the weekend.
