Well, once again, the days have blown by and I haven't blogged. Where does the time go?
Sunday we had Ry's birthday party. I had a problem with people not being able to make it - quite a lot of people, mostly family. Then one of Ry's friends got sick and couldn't come, and then nobody showed up until half an hour after the party was supposed to start. I was more than a little upset. So I've decided that next year we're having a kid-only party, with one or two relatives and that's it.
I felt bad for Ry, but his two little cousins came and another couple of friends came, so we had five kids and they had a great time. We took them on a tour of the firetrucks, which was a big kid-crowd pleaser, and played some games and they ran around the fire hall like a bunch of nuts. So it worked out ok.
I'm still having a kids party next year.
Yesterday I felt cruddy. Headache - the weather must be changing again - so much that I couldn't concentrate, and this off and on sore throat that will NOT leave. It's settled into my tonsils now, and I can't seeem to kick it. No fever, no cough, just sore. And I don't have time to go the doctor. Speaking of which, Ry got to go to his doctor yesterday, for his four year checkup. He's 75% for height (like 41 inches) and weighs 47.8 pounds. He's a solid little guy. The doc said he was fine, but I've been watching his snacking.
Poor thing had to get FOUR shots, including his flu shot. He was ok for the first two, but the last two were full of tears and screaming. But now he's done until he's eleven, so that's good. We went home after that to relax. Mommy took a nap.
Today was much better- we got some work done, and I did some shopping. It felt pretty good to shop and not use credit cards. I did quite a bit of Christmas shopping, almost done yay! And we went to the grocery store to get stuff to make pies for T-giving.
That's tomorrow's project.
I started another book for Seven Seas today, due a little under three weeks from now. And I've taken another run at Return to Zandria, using Kim's suggestions, and a more dispassionate eye. It's still pretty good and I'm still pretty happy with it, but I did make some changes.
And that's all the news thats fit to print. (oh, and yes, I can't say how happy I am that OJ's book will never see the light of day. Bastid.)
Later, taters!
