Not 'the' call, but not really all that disappointed

 So, I called up the editor today.  He's a nice guy, very easy to talk to.  Talked for about half an hour.

It wasn't THE call. But it wasn't the worst thing that's ever happened to me either.

Which, after considering it all week, I had already pretty much figured out. BUT, it wasn't 'I hated this' either. I had a notebook and pen, and took lots of ( Read more... )

Yeah, I guess it is kind of wow, huh. I had met this guy at a conference last year, and he is super nice. Really, he didn't have to talk to me in person, but he thought it would be better in case I had any questions.

It's only taken 10 years to get this far, but I think I'm over the hump now, on the downward slope and headed for the finish line.

This is my first time i visit here. I found so many interesting stuff in your blog especially its discussion. From the tons of comments on your articles, I guess I am not the only one having all the enjoyment here! keep up the good work..

Actually that's how I first published with Samhain too - the editor (who is no longer there) gave me some general notes about pushing scenes together and some other stuff. I remember it was summer, and I worked 40 hours straight that week to fix it up. Then I resubmitted and she loved it.
