Not really, but I wish I was. I am sad to see summer go, but at this point OVER IT. Boy NEEDS to go back to school, he's driving me nuts. One week and two days. You know it's bad when I'm counting down.
On the weird front, we came home last night from football practice (weird that I'm doing normal Mom things like that, I think) to no phone service. Absolutely no dial tone. Hubby's father works for The Phone Company, and last time we lost service he gave us some things we can do to pinpoint the problem. Well, nothing worked. Why it's weird is our DSL is still working. Now usually when we lose phone service at this time of year it's because some big truck delivering stuff to the school across the street has not pulled into the entrance and instead gone up the street and ripped our phone line off of our house. But no, everything is still there. Maybe my phone's just decided it wanted it's yearly break. *shrug*
The Phone Company can't get out to look at it until Sept. 9th. Yeah, I'm not happy either, but as long as the computer works, I can live with it. Thank goodness for cell phones.
I'm working on the WIP, slowly but surely, steeping myself in all things late Victorian Philadelphia. Assembly Balls and Centennial Expositions and pretty gowns and architecture. So far I'm nearly to 10,000 words - only another 70K or so to go. Sigh. But soon we'll be on our annual trip to Wildwood for four days, and I usually get some writing done there, sitting in the hotel room, looking out the window at the Atlantic, with no normal life distractions and no real WiFi connection. I'm hoping it warms up enough to get in our last licks in the pool and ocean. Right now it's rather chilly - my AC is off and I wore jeans and a fleece to practice last night. Brrr...
So this week is all about getting ready for school. The shopping, the haircuts, the organizing of backpacks. Some writing and stuff will go in there too - hopefully I'll get all caught up on my reviews by Friday. My Narration professor STILL hasn't posted grades, and I STILL haven't heard from Rutgers, re: Grad School, but hopefully both will happen soon.
