Thanksgiving 2007 is done!
Items baked - 2
Items eaten - 2
Christmas presents made - 3 (would have been 4, but I felt awful yesterday afternoon, came down with a sudden bout of vertigo-like symptoms. Dizzy like I'd been clubbing all night. I'll do #4 today). Once the last one is done, I am FINISHED making presents.
Christmas presents ordered - 3, along with the triplets birthday present. So 4 presents.
Tree up - check
Dining room decorated - check
I always do the tree the on Thanksgiving weekend. Then it's done and I can enjoy it and get on with my holiday. The living room still needs to be done, the garlands and colored lights and stockings, but I'm not rushing to do it. By the end of the week, they'll be up.
I have some presents left to order, but this year I have a list and know exactly what I'm getting everyone, so it's just a matter of placing the orders. I am super organized this year, and my holiday gifts should be finished by next week!
The edits:
Are coming along. There was so much BLUE in the beginning, but I looked at the list of changes she wanted, and once I got through the opening scene, there wasn't much at all. I'm almost to the next place she wants global changes, but so far, so good. Can I get a meter?
Yes, I can:
Have a nice Monday!
42 / 177 pages. 24% done!
The zokutou site seems to be gone, so this meter will suffice. Yep, 42 pages last night. Like I said, there were some places where nothing needed to be done, so it wasn't like I ripped apart every page. Lindsey just wants some more punch in certain aspects of the book, and I agree. I've made some other changes based on her suggestions too.
Editing is kind of like grieving- it comes in stages. First there's denial, then anger (mostly with myself) then bargainaing (if I just move a word here and there) and finally acceptance. Hopefully these changes I'm making are good, and the second round will be a snap.
I'm still waiting for my cover. It shouldn't be long now, the February releases should be up on the Samhain site in the very near future.
As far as the hunt for an e-book reader goes - I've now learned that the Sony (another e-ink reader) also reads .pdf books natively, in addition to the sony format. Hmm... now I can get mobipocket on my pc to convert .pdf's to mobi format, although it's not perfect. So if I had a Kindle, I could buy Adobe books and still get them on the device. The Sony I could just upload to, but the ebookwise wont' convert .pdf's. The only thing stopping me from the Sony or the Kindle is the dang price! Although the Sony seems to be coming down. I'll bet that after Christmas the price will drop. You think?
And I also got my study guides for the Praxis tests. So I have to start studying for that. Oh, and I need to sign up for the K-5 content knowledge test in January. The deadline isn't for a couple of weeks, I just have to remember to do it.
