Lost: One Ending

Oct 18, 2007 06:19

I  can't find my ending! Ack. This WIP is meandering all over the bloody place  and refuses to end. I KNOW what needs to happen, but it refuses to do so. I have almost 60,000 words and can't get them to stop.

I even cut some words yesterday, trying to compact and squash and get to the ending faster, but I can't seem to do it. I think I'm going to have to cut another scene. Maybe not I have to wait until I'm done and go back and read it. It may just need rearranging and not cutting.

I think I can't find the ending because I can't find the black moment. So far everything's just kind of....happening. It's all exciting, but there's no 'do or die' yet.

This is all the final third. The first two thirds are pretty darn good. It'll need some tweaking, but it's not a bad story.

I just can't figure out how to end it. Maybe I need music. I dont usually use soundtracks, per se, but sometimes they do inspire me while I'm watching the movie. The WIP is a fairy tales gone wild story, sort of, so I could dig out the Into the Woods soundtrack. Anyone besides me remember ITW? Loved that show. Did that show when I was into theater. It fits. Maybe I'll rip it to the old MP3 player and get some inspiration.

Meanwhile, if you find my ending, please return it??? Thanks.
