So i just read this article on stem cell research and if you know me, i'm kinda into this. Except i struggle a lot with it. I do not thing i sit on either side of the fence. See for me, not to be harsh, but do we really want play god? Should we be making new hearts for people? Does this eventually Far FAR down the road lead to people wanting to be immortal? Because i don't think we are made to be immortal. And i definately don't think we are suppose to be making new organs for people.
I see the use of stem cell research for dieases, but maybe we are suppose to have such thing. Maybe we are suppose to have cancer to be reminded to be HUMBLE.
But then for me, there is the other part! I think that stem cell research is so neat. How awesome would it be for us to be able to create invertebrale disc. That would be so awesome to be able to give life back to the lifeless. People could move with out pain by this simply engineered specimen.
What if god did give up the resources to do all this!
So also, as i continue to rant, say we do get this to work, who get access to all this? Of course the rich. we have the rich becoming immortal while those who can't affford transplanets already, will not have access to any of these discoveries. I think it would divide us all even more!
Lastly, not to be mean by, don't we need population control anyway. We are way over populating the world, and helping people live longer is not a way to solve it!
