PHWOOSH!

::blows dust off this thing::

There. That's a little better. Not much, but a little.

So...

Tori wants me to sign up for the West Wing AU ficathonI am thinking about it. Maybe. Because it sounds interesting. And has lots of potential. And there is a very good chance we would get one another in it if not many more people sign up ( Read more... )

It's like all thing West Wing have taken a permanent vacation from my brain.
Firstly, I'm really sorry to hear that.
Secondly, I'm relieved that it's not just me.

I miss having characters in my head chatting to me. And what does it say about me that I miss a television show so much?

Sorry to be quoting you back at you so much, but you've struck a chord with me. And you've been writing much longer than I have, so if I feel this bereft...

I can't believe I still miss it so much either. Almost nine months since the last episode and I still get misty eyed when I think about it and remember there's no more to come.

God, I'm depressing today - Sorry!

You're not depressing. Or no more so than I am. at least.

It's really been bothering me a lot lately that I have nothing to call my own anymore. Fandom and all that comes with it. Sigh.

And I'm not UNhappy that West Wing ended, because I think it ended on a good note with things that made me happy (J/D on a hopeful vacation, CJ and Danny working things out, so much potential for Toby...) but it's not there in my head anymore and *that* makes me sad.

Ya know?

Ok, I think we both need to go mock TW stuff or soemthing to cheer us up. :P

there's tons of other stuff I watch but I'm just not fannish enough or invested enough to want to write them, to figure out what motivates, to decide why the characters are like they are. It's enough just to see Starbuck be emo!girl or to read someone else's fic or analysis of her.

Right there with you. I miss having a FANDOM, all caps, around which my writing brain revolves. I dabble occasionally in other fandoms, but usually in a short-lived, poorly written kind of way. I miss tag-teaming with a certain Author of Awesomeness to create whole 'verses.

I miss The West Wing. I really do. And I haven't found a replacement fandom yet. SO, yeah, I totally get what you're saying.

I am so glad I am not alone in this. {{hugs you}}

THWACK! Dabble, yes. Poorly written, no. So shaddup. *g*

Nope, you're really not. Though I suspect I may fall headlong into Friday Night Lights (!?!) fandom soon if the show continues to emit that heavenly glow of AWESOME. :)

Oh, and thanks. :) I more meant poorly characterized because I don't know the fandom well enough. Not just poorly written, like, bad grammar. ::g::

You don't have to sign up if you don't want.

But I waaaaaant to! It's the feasibility of it that's bugging me. Of course, if I just hit send it would be done and OVER with and there would be no problem at all. :)

Just hit send. We can always idle the fuck out if it sucks.

Your signup delighted me and intopolitics to no end. Such important stipulations, especially in that crowd.

I feel you on the writing. And I would say I miss having a fandom that eats my brain, but that's not entirely true, because BSG started doing that and I kind of hated myself for it. It's dissipated a bit so I hope that continues. When a fandom eats your brain it's too easy to get hurt. :P I hope you can start writing again, though. Although to be honest, I'm not sure a ficathon is the best way to go about it.

Yeah, I'm not sure a ficathon is the way to go either, but if it's one I don't care about so much? I'm sure I can produce *something* somewhat not-so-crappy in a month.
