Today is the holiday commemorating that glorious day* when Martians landed in Grover's Mill and other locations across the Earth, the first steps in the process of bringing the aboriginal populations of Earth under the benevolent tentacle of the One Government.

Admittedly there some regrettable excesses during the pacification and we all agree mistakes on both sides were made. That was ancient history that should not concern the many thousands of humans across the worlds, whether contributing to the public good on Titan, singing their happy songs in the fields and mines of Earth, or simply participating in the culinary arts on Mars. The on-going protests against this glorious holiday are just another example of how the humans love to spoil everyone's fun through poor sportsmanship.

* Some misguided humans claim it was two weeks later,

to which I say "ha ha! You wacky humans. Please stand over there in front of that heat-scorched wall."
