After my last class today I walked to the Wood Center to buy some tea and search for my sister. Since she wasn't there I decided to leave campus and head home. As I walked out the doors I noticed a student standing by the benches smoking pot. *eyes wide open* What is this person thinking?? It wasn't even from a little pipe-- the thing was huge! Several things went through my head at that moment, one of which was "Look away quick, don't make it a big deal." I know people make their own choices and what not, but I have never been comfortable around people who smoke, even when they're in the darkest most out of the way corner in their house. This was no corner though, this was out in the open, and not only did I find it completely rude that he was doing this but I think he is a very stupid person. Why is he wasting his time getting baked before class? If he's done with class, why can't he wait until he's at home? Why did he bother coming to school in the first place? Perhaps I'm not being open-minded enough, but geeeeez, where on earth did decency escape to?
On a much more fun note, my 21st birthday could not have been better! I only taught one dance class that day and Marissa took over the other two so that I could get home and spend time with my sister Casey and her family. Cassandra set up the dining room to resemble a very swank lounge and we all celebrated with food and cake. Later on that night my friends Karina, Jess, Nils, and Peter took me out to different places, with the Pub being the first so that we could listen to MU330 play their set. I've never been the biggest fan of ska, but these guys were awesome. They had so much energy! Eventually Marissa met up with us and I faked a few pool games, danced with a table (not ON, just with) and anything after that I really don't remember. Heh. :)
The next day I had to go to a rehearsal....bbllleeghghghhggh.
Oh! Friday night Cassandra and Simon drove down to Anchorage with me to see Cats. I've never seen the musical before, so this was very exciting for me. The music was great, except there was one soloist who had a high-pitched nasal-like voice. I was more tuned into the dancing anyway. I never knew there were so many ways a person can make his or her body resemble a cat!
