I tell you what, I'm in a weird mood. I wouldn't call it a bad mood, with all things considering I feel like I'm feeling pretty content. Yesterday I was a bitch to deal with, and I feel bad for the people that were around me when I wasn't faking a certain happiness. Yes, it was Valentine's Day (aka Singles' Awareness Day) but that didn't phase me in the least. What I couldn't get past was the person who hit my vehicle with his and drove off. That pretty much left my cranky pants in a twist for the rest of the day. The story:
It was around 8 AM and I was just minutes away from being on campus. Traffic was heavy and haulted on Geist Rd, as it is every morning, but I didn't mind because it gave me the chance to change my shoes. Just as I finished I felt my car being jolted. As I looked up I saw that a very impatient motorist had decided it would be a brilliant idea to drive along the side of my car in order to get up to the intersection faster. As this great idea is being carried out, my car is being dented in four places and its paint is being scraped off along the entire passenger's side, not to mention the mirror was taken clean off. All while I'm SITTING in my car! I was in a daze and couldn't move. I can't remember my thoughts exactly, but I know that when I was able to yell out the words "HOLY FUCKING SHIT!" I really had no idea what to do. I tried to look at the assaulting vehicle but it was long gone. Then what seemed to be out of no where a lady runs up to my car and tells me her husband is on the phone with the state troopers. I pulled off to the side, as did the couple that witnessed the incident, and we waited for the officer to arrive. It turns out the vehicle that hit me had an Affordable Used Cars sign where the license plate goes, so I'm hopeful that records can be looked at to see who bought a car that fits the description of the one that hit me. If the person is not found, then my insurance can pay for the damage but my rates will go up, which I can't exactly afford. If the person if caught and has no insurance, then the same applies. If the person is found and DOES have insurance, I'm sure I'll have to put up a fight with the person's company but I'm willing to do it. I'm so upset over this, it's never happened to me before. I was thinking about it, and I've decided that I wouldn't be as upset if someone had hit me due to skidding on the ice. Stuff like that happens all the time. But no, this was a "I'm going to drive against this car like an idiot and leave as soon as I can" type of deal. How unreal is that?
I'm skipping ballet tonight. I'm pretty sure I could collapse on the floor and cause someone to trip over me if I go. We can't let that happen now can we?
