Strange!

I AM DONE FOR THE SEMESTER!!! But whoa, why does it feel like I still have to be back to school on Monday? It's because my mind isn't working due to being fried and deprived of sleep. Well I got some sleep last night, but not enough to be normal.

"Going to California with an achin...in my heart----" No, there is no ache, but I figured I'd throw in a Led Zep quote. I'm all packed up and ready to go. Now I'm just waiting a few minutes before taking off to town to go to my very first contra dance ever. I'm excited but slightly nervous. I know there is no reason to be, and I know some friends will be there to show me how it's done, so it'll be great.

I got a nice surprise today. When I returned home from my exam a package was sitting on my bed. It was from my friend Ben who is working in London right now. Ever since he's been there he has always raved about the music, so he sent me 21 cds full of tunes from their local bands. Normally I'm not exposed to anything like that. I tend to stick with what I know, which is music that was created by rock bands slightly before my time and knew how to do it right. Well, while listening to these mixes I've decided they aren't too bad. I can't think of any names of the bands because I packed all the cds away in my carry on, but I'll figure out my favorites and jot them down one of these days.

On the topic of London, I've been keeping in contact with Mary Christiansen, my former AP British Literature teacher from my senior year of high school. Almost every year in high school I would travel with her, and she and I both miss the tradition so she has invited me to go along with her this year during spring break. I don't have to pay anything except air travel, but the kicker is it's as long as I act as a chaperone for the high schoolers. That wouldn't be too big of a problem except that I know of one girl who is definitely going to need an eye kept on her. She has a disability, and I'm not exactly sure what it is but I know it has to do with her judgement. She is an intelligent girl when it comes to her schoolwork, but she's the type that wouldn't know to look both ways before crossing a street. Ms. C has talked about it with me and she's hoping that I become the girl's "buddy" in order to relieve the rest of the group of having to deal with her. I guess I have no choice since I'm able to go on such a screamin' deal.

I suppose I better scoot. It's time for some contra!
