I went on a bit of a reading binge this week. It took me so long to get through my books for the 999, especially Little Dorrit and The Last of the Mohicans, that I kinda went nuts afterwards! I'm slowing down now, though, and rereading Georgette Heyer's Cotillion just because I can. :)
Apparently Soulless is in bookstores now, but for some reason I have to wait until October 5 for Amazon to ship it to me. Not cool.
I need to hit a bookstore sometime soon...I'm really interested in Nick Hornby's new novel, Juliet, Naked (and I have a Barnes & Noble coupon!). Also, my brother's birthday is next month, and although he doesn't read much fiction, I'm thinking of getting him Darkness at Noon by Arthur Koestler and The Spy Who Came In from the Cold by John Le Carre. He's into politics and philosophy, so I think he might actually like them.
I started writing this whole thing about Banned Books Week and censorship, but I'm thinking I'll save that for another day. At this point, I'm just procrastinating on a paper that I need to write. :)
