Library book sale score, part 1

Oct 21, 2011 16:49

This weekend is my public library's semi-annual sale! I'm going with a friend tomorrow, but I couldn't resist stopping by today also...and I came away with three new books!

Malcolm Pryce, Last Tango in Aberystwyth -- The title alone made me curious! Apparently it is humorous noir set in Wales.

Douglas Adams, Dirk Gently's Holistic Detective Agency -- Another great title! I liked the Hitchhiker's Guide series a lot, and this one looks like fun too.

Ellis Peters, Death and the Joyful Woman -- I love Peters' Brother Cadfael books, but this is from another series set in the 20th century. It won an Edgar, so presumably it's pretty good!

Hoping for a bigger and better haul tomorrow, although I'm quite pleased with this one! Also, good luck to all those who are participating in the 24-hour read-a-thon tomorrow; I can't join you, unfortunately, but I look forward to cheering you on!
