Today I completed the
Historical Fiction 2011 Challenge at
Historical Tapestry.
There were several tiers to this challenge, and I chose to attempt the top tier and read 20 books. Any type of historical fiction counted, which made things easier! Anyway, here's what I read:
- Roberta Gellis - Roselynde
- M. K. Hobson - The Native Star
- Willa Cather - Death Comes for the Archbishop
- Lauren Willig - The Orchid Affair
- Robin Adair - Death and the Running Patterer
- Gail Carriger - Changeless
- Gail Carriger - Blameless
- Laura Kinsale - Lessons in French
- Mary Robinette Kowal - Shades of Milk and Honey
- Rebecca Dean - Palace Circle
- Anna Godbersen - Envy
- Mary Gentle - A Sundial in a Grave: 1610
- Margaret Leroy - The Soldier’s Wife
- Kate Elliott - Cold Magic
- Katherine Webb - The Legacy
- Ellis Peters - The Pilgrim of Hate
- Susanne Alleyn - Game of Patience
- Marina Fiorato - The Daughter of Siena
- Juliet Marillier - The Dark Mirror
- Mary Balogh - A Matter of Class
Since I love historical fiction, I really enjoyed this challenge! Roselynde was a standout, and I also liked Gail Carriger's and Ellis Peters' books, as always. Game of Patience and The Dark Mirror were also impressive, but I wasn't a big fan of Shades of Milk and Honey, Death and the Running Patterer, or A Sundial in a Grave: 1610.
