Day 30!

Day 30. Character you most relate to.

I've already mentioned that I find Elinor Dashwood very relatable, because she is so sensible and down-to-earth. Strangely enough, the other character I really identify with is Mr. Darcy. Not the super-smart, super-rich, super-handsome part, of course; but I think I'm quite similar to him in the way I relate to people. Mr. Darcy is "ill qualified to recommend himself to strangers" and is stiff and haughty among people he doesn't know well. He says of himself: "I certainly have not the talent which some people possess [...] of conversing easily with those I have never seen before. I cannot catch their tone of conversation, or appear interested in their concerns, as I often see done." He has a certain amount of shyness and awkwardness, which I definitely also share.

And thus ends the 30-day Austen meme! I know you're all heartbroken. :)
