Days 21-22

Day 21. Favorite Jane Austen-related photo.

This one! It's a promotional shot for P&P 2005. I love the intensity of the actors' eyes, the gothic background of the leaves, the pose, the costuming (especially the focal point of Keira Knightley's dress).... I just think it's beautiful!

Day 22. Favorite Austen female casting decision.

This one's too hard, so I'll just name some of my favorites! I think Felicity Jones was a great choice for Catherine in "Northanger Abbey" 2007; she looked perfectly sweet, pretty, and innocent. I also loved Kate Winslet as Marianne in "Sense and Sensibility" 1995 -- but then again, I love Kate Winslet in general! I thought that Alison Steadman knocked it out of the park as Mrs. Bennet in P&P 1995, and Olivia Williams was lovely as Jane Fairfax in "Emma" 1996 (the Kate Beckinsale version).
