Austen-tastic

It's probably obvious by now that I have a rather severe Austen obsession. :) It's been growing since middle school, and it's caused me to read (and even buy) a LOT of sequels and fanfics. Some aren't too bad, most are completely awful, and some are downright strange (Pride and Prejudice and Zombies, anyone?). I used to buy anything with the Jane Austen name on it, but I've learned to be more discriminating in my love of all things Austen. Now I'll rarely shell out money for Austen products unless a LOT of people have given them the thumbs-up.

Yet I am determined that when this hits stores in April, I am going to be first in line for a copy! I'm not nuts about the cover, but the first few pages of the book look very promising! Sure, the world might be trying to hop on the Austen bandwagon a little too much...but I have to believe that the world is doing it out of love. And what better way to spread the Austen love than by doing it in comic-book form?

Speaking of the crazy things people will do in the name of Jane, check out this book:

Am I appalled? Yes. Am I going to read this book? You betcha! :) What can I say, I'm morbidly curious! Plus, a couple of my friends and I have a tradition of buying trashy romance novels and making fun of them. No offense to any romance-novel-loving readers...I love a good love story, but you have to admit, most romance novelists are hilariously bad writers (at least the ones I've experienced so far). Anyway, I'm hoping that I can at least get some good mockery out of it. I am horribly bothered by the idea of Fitzwilliam Darcy ravishing anyone, however. (Well, anyone except Elizabeth...) So I really don't know how I'm going to feel about this. :)
