Sunday night, and the festival hath officially concluded. It was a pretty fun weekend. I had a glimpse of quite a bit of arthouse material, and have expanded my vocabulary of films that I have experienced. One thing that I have realized is that I need to go out to the theatre more often during the times when I need to get out of the house, because watching something on a TV is not the same kind of experience of sitting in a dark movie theatre watching a 60 foot screen.
I also discovered that most of the arthouse stuff is pretty slow and boring shit, and I’m leaning more toward grindhouse than arthouse. It gave me some hope of making it into a larger festival with our movie, just because it’s going to have a lot more action and movement. I really felt like I could do better than all of the films that I saw this weekend, and I’m ready to get back to work. I have two IEP conferences this week, and then I am home free.
I really feel as though I should reflect more, but right now I have some unedited scenes that are calling my name…
