Last night, I finally managed to get myself into bed around 4:15 or so for about 2 hours of richly deserved shuteye. I was in a little bit of a panic last night, and I was afraid that my finished product was going to go out with something that I wasn't happy with, but I have to say that the version that I managed to lock down is by far my best work ever. The sound is not perfect, but you can hear everyone, and the music works very well with the video. And the video is also really solid, and there is a real flow from scene to scene.

I'll be taking the video in to drop off this afternoon, and we're premiering it next week at Lion Tracks. I'm looking forward to showing it to the assembled crowd, and cannot wait to hear the reaction. That's the reason why I make movies.

It's going to take me a few days before I'm going to be able to handle any more video editing, and I do deserve a break, even if it is very short. I've got to finish a few more projects and get all the files off my hard drive to make room for the movie, which will be starting back up in a few weeks, and we've got tons and tons of scheduling to do on it. But we've figured out what to do with most of our locations, and it'll just be a matter of time before we're back in the swing of things.

I can't describe the relaxed and satisfied sensation that I encountered when I watched my finished product last night and couldn't find anything else to nitpick. I had fully expected to have to fix something, but the version I put together was very solid, even by my own worst critic standards, and it felt good.
