Peace and Light
Affirmation: I am calm, poised, and centered in the Christ mind. Nothing can disturb the calm peace of my soul.
The Christmas holiday can become rushed and frantic. During this busy time, I take a moment to withdraw from the noise, still myself, and quietly contemplate the gift of Christ's birth. Just as wise men followed a blazing star through the dark nights to find him, I reach inward with prayer to find the light of divine love waiting to sustain and guide me.
As I breathe slowly and deeply, I feel my body relax and gather strength. I let worries and expectations drop away, and my mind becomes tranquil. In the still darkness, I give thanks for all that is bright and good in my life. I nurture and cherish the light within, and know I am nurtured and cherished in return.
I find myself refreshed and renewed from my restful contemplation. As I move through the day, I continue to feel the calm I experience during prayer, and I express it to those around me through my words and actions. I know the greatest gift I have to give is the light of peaceful love, and I give it freely from an abundant source.
They went on their way, and the star they had seen in the east went ahead of them until it stopped over the place where the child was. When they saw the star, they were overjoyed. --Matthew 2:9
