So, we started Azithromycin and dropped the antifungal medication last week. The days were better as we went . My husband and I even went out for supper (we called our local adult son over). My 9 year old was able to get along well, and follow directions. Because the local public school was out of Friday, we treated our kids as if it was a day off as well. I took the kids to the coffee shop at one point, they had time outside in the snow, and there was the pattern with electronic games. But otherwise, all went well. He even had a blood draw in the afternoon and there was no problem whatsoever. From then, he went through this weekend doing pretty well. Went to a pottery session on Saturday with my hubs, did well at night. We had my adult son come and stay with the kids and my husband and I went to dinner. Besides eating too many cookies, and being a little grumpy, he went to bed and did fine. Sunday morning it was hard to get him up for church, but he got it together and did go. It went well, he sat and drew pictures and he stood when singing. He did complain his legs were bothering him, but otherwise, did well. We ate lunch, and the afternoon was good. He is always anxious about transitions and leaving the house, or coming back home. This is the same. But no hiding his head, no light sensitivity, and no weird behaviors. He's still clearing his throat constantly.
Big thing this morning, he got up, got ready, and he wanted to play minecraft. He did this for a bit. The dog has seizures (came to us with this problem). So, after about 1/2 an hour, the dog did this which pulled my 11 year old daughter away from the game. My son got off the game, and he was going to come back. He helped comfort the dog, and then went right back to the television, but he just turned the game off. This without me bugging him at all.
Note, he did say he had a nightmare last night. But again, this happens. It's manageable. He did sleep, and got up for the day without a fuss.
Could Azithromycin be the help? Or giving so many vials of blood on Friday? I don't know, we shall see how the week goes.
