Hot off the presses...
Alabama swore in her new governor yesterday. It seems it did not go quite as nicely as some people would have preferred.
The brethren So my question I am laying before everybody revolves around the biblical idea of brotherhood, and what that means for those who deny Christ. I hope I can take it for granted that that distinction is an either/or proposition. And also that the Bible is pretty clear about it.
What puzzles me is that even the reporter noticed that the new governor expressed the desire to be brother or sister with those who are not now.
Interestingly the only people quoted was a Jew and a Muslim. And naturally of course our modern conception of the 1st Amendment got trumpeted.
But without getting into SOCUS interpretations, isn't the point of religion (In a general sense) to make us better people in public? I will admit I find it ironic that the Muslim is declaiming religious proselytizing.
PS
Thanks for the comments on my last post. I've had a rather trying weekend, and just really couldn't respond.
