Some people, mostly those who reject christianity, can't stand the notion of sin. But really, when you think about it, the way God hates sin, means love for us.

Sin is incredibly ugly, always. Our spirits confirm that to us. If God wouldn't hate it, we would be very lost, engulfed in a deep darkness.

What if God wouldn't hate sin? What if He would be kinda aloof, not caring about it, somehow leaving us to ourselves? Our sinfulness would get worse and worse.

But, the truth is, God loves us. Like a true father, He doesn't want His children to get destroyed by sin. Sin is no little mistake. Sin instead is very destructive.

I think God tried to help sin not through law or something, in the pre-flood times. Consider how God handled Cain's murder of Abel. God showed Cain what sin would make of him. But God did not really punish Cain. Instead, God gave Cain a protection.

It did not work out. As we read in the bible, things got worse and worse and the hearts of humans proved to be evil.

Since Mt. Sinai, God takes sin serious. He battles it, handles it with justice. And since Christ, we are offered away to receive BOTH forgiveness for sins, and a means to get rid of it through God's love and Jesus' blood.

It's something incredibly sincere and loving. It's like being in death row - God convicted us of our sin, told us that if we would not accept the lawyer's solution, to be bound to Jesus and live in Him, we would simply die forever. But the way is open, in the Lord Jesus Christ.

God is love. Thank goodness He takes sin serious.
