I'd like to ask, what do you believe regarding the 1000's years reign of Christ spoken about in the Revelation of John? Do you believe that it has already happened, or that it will happen?
I believe it still has to come. I would love it a lot if I saw it beginning in my lifetime, but I can't be sure of that.
I was thinking of the ecumene. If Christ had complete rule over our affairs, I think there is no reason for Him to maintain the separatedness of the church. So I think a united church would be something Christ likely would pursue. I'm not necessarily thinking of a world wide church like it was envisioned by some people in the past. More something like a church federation, and some sort of rules that make it possible that say orthodox, catholics and protestants can all receive the Eucharist. I also think that Jesus will unify our dogmas.
I have a strong belief in the 1000 years. When Jesus AND His Saints will rule, really and completely rule about all things, there WILL be world peace. A breather for humanity, finally! And think of all that is possible when the devil and his hordes are thrown away into the abyss like the bad apples they are.
If you have any good links on the subject, or a book recommendation, feel free to give me this information, I would be very grateful. I'm not looking, however, for a complete exegesis of Revelation as I must confess I rarely read the book as it scares me much.
