Friends in Christ,
First, I just want to say that I have, at least temporarily and open to the discretion of the other mods for reconsideration, removed
zirptonianwoman from the community. I don't have a problem with us disagreeing, but she resorted to some really awful name calling that I felt was entirely inappropriate. I don't consider myself the best mod to ban people because I struggle with my own behavior, as well, so I am deferring to the other mods with regards to whether or not to allow her back in.
However, and this is first and foremost directed at myself, but I know there are others who need this warning as much as me, but many of us need to reconsider how we interact with each other. I really appreciate
martiancyclist's comment in her last thread, perhaps there is something of a spiritual warfare going on right now. But, beginning with me, there have been some really caustic exchanges over the past few days, and I think many of us need to take a step back and breathe. Let's really try to focus on keeping our discussions within a spirit of charity. There are a few of you in this community who, unlike myself, are extremely gifted when it comes to patience in discussion. Perhaps you might even consider sending a private message to those of us who struggle, when you notice that our discussions are unbecoming of a Christian community. Just a thought. But anyway, let's just really make an effort to examine ourselves, work on our patience and charity, and allow this community to flourish as it should. I know I have certainly failed this community greatly, particularly in my role as a moderator, so for those I have offended I ask your forgiveness. But even in my failings I cannot shun my responsibilities as a mod, and in that light I just ask us all to keep a watch on our behavior and interactions. Thank you.
Peace in Christ,
Michael
