In their research, Chinnery and colleagues used normal embryos created from one man and one woman that had defective mitochondria in the woman's egg. They then transplanted that embryo into an emptied egg donated from a second woman who had healthy mitochondria.
I'm just wondering what people's opinions on this are. Is this the same level as stem cell research for you or is it different? Is it immoral or a beneficial use of science and knowledge? Is it the same as any other IVF procedure and therefore good/bad in the same way?
