Matthew 25:40

A  few days ago a question came up about the illustration of the talents. That OP lead me to read Matthew 25  in it's entirety. As often happens here, in this community,  we learn a lot from each other AND we find what we read here and discuss, usually  leads to creating more questions. Which is very satisfying.

After the parable of the talents, we read about a separation which takes place and then in verse 34-40 we read about those sheep which the King ( Jesus)  has separated and he commends them for something. I wonder what you glean from this account?
34 - 40 RSV
"Then the King will say to those on his right hand, "Come, O blessed of my Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world; for I was hungry and you gave me food, I was thirsty and you gave me drink, I was a stranger and you welcomed me, I was naked and you clothed me, I was sick and you visited me, I was in prison and you came to me. " Then the righteous  will answer him,  " Lord, when did we see thee hungry and feed thee or thirsty and gave thee drink?  And  when did we see thee a stranger and welcome thee, or naked and clothed thee? And when did we  see thee sick and in prison and visit thee?" And the King will answer them, " Truly, I say to you, as you did it to the least of my brethren, you did it to me."

It would do well, to read until the chapter has ended, to get the tone and substance of what will happen to the goats.

My questions are:
What is the kingdom prepared...from the foundation of the world?
Who are these sheep and who are the goats?
Who are the least of Jesus' brethren?
What can we do in our day to day live to make sure we find ourselves sheep?
Why were the sheep surprised?
Do you have any insight into this section of Matthew 25, you would like to share?

I'm going to leave you all at it. thanks.
