Room of Requirement.

The Ramones were playing. Danny thought he'd had a heartattack when he saw the phonograph, and his grin eclipsed itself when he shuffled over to a shelf and read the record titles. This room was, in a word, amazing ( Read more... )

Bri was tired. It had been a long night and she was started to sober up. Shrugging, she grabbed another drink - it seemed someone had whipped up some good hurricanes- and sunk into one of the beanbag chairs in the corner.

Bella, a haughty Ravenclaw seventh year, pushed her way into the Room of Requirement, having noticed that her baby sister, Bri, was nowhere to be found. She didn't like parties, and generally tended to avoid them - however, her mother's latest letters insisting she kept Bri out of trouble were enough to make an appearance at this one. She had made Brenna, the middle of the Richards sisters, promise that she would wait outside.

She scanned the room, which was, to say the least, a mess. She shook her head, as she searched for Bri... She mumbled varied levels of "excuse me," as she pushed her way through the crowd of students, pretending not to blush at a few of the boys. There was Bri, slumped in one of the beanbag chairs. Instinctively, Bella put her hands on her hips & huffed, as if no words could describe the fury of finding her baby sister nearly passed out in the Room of Requirement.

She stood there for a few moments, waiting for Bri to notice her presence.

Bri heard a familiar sound and slowly looked up. The was here sister, looking very tall (which was strange seeing as how Bella was shorter than her) and very, very annoyed. Bri couldn't resist the chance to annoy her further, so she smiled brightly, gestured to the bar and slurred, "oh, hey sis... whasup? have a drink, have a seat!"

Bella rolled here eyes severely, and sighed. She surveyed the room again, and thought about how she had left their middle sister, Brenna, outside in the hallway. She laughed a little to herself, thinking how evil it would be to leave Brenna outside while she had a little fun herself. "We taught the brats," she sang to herself, as the Ramones continued along.

She walked over to the bartender, mumbled something, and he handed her a rum & coke. She scowled, half-expecting a martini, but shrugged it off and pushed Bri off the beanbag chair, sitting in her seat.

"Hey!" Bri exclaimed. "*I* was sitting there."

I swear, Bella can be such a breat sometimes.

She swore under her breath, took another seat a few feet away and glared at her older sister. She wondered where Brenna was. Probably stuck keeping watch outside, she guessed. Bella would have never let her come in with her. Hell, Bri was surprised their bossy older sister hadn't forcibly dragged her out of the room yet.

Bella leaned her head against the wall and knocked back the rum and coke. She didn't really approve of all the alcohol roaming around, but she didn't really feel the need to tell everybody how to behave. It was a party, after all, and she hadn't really been invited - she was simply here to, eventually at least, drag Bri out of the Room of Requirement before some boy took advantage of her unsuspecting baby sister.

A smile crept upon her face and she looked across the way where her sister had now taken up seat, and asked, "So, who should I tell Brenna you snogged tonight? You know, I left her outside to keep watch. She won't be happy about any of this."

If there was one thing she loved more than bossing Bri around, it was watching the exasparated expressions change and her reactions as they teased her.

Bri was taken by surprise by the question and blushed a little. She quickly regained her composure and schooled her expression to one of non-chalance.

"Oh, no one really," she replied. "I mean, I had to give Danny a birthday kiss, didn't I? And I think I gave Patrick a friendly peck, but that's about it."

"I did make some new friends, tonight, too. Mother should be pleased about that. She's been on me to be more 'social' and spend less time on my O.W.L.s," she added. As much as they differed in all other aspects, she knew her sister at least understood what it was like to be nagged by their mother. It was, after all, what Annabel Richards did best - nag her children.
