It is time.

I suppose it's time to update.  I left my last journal open.

I've decided to take from Dr. Delony.  We called him, and he acted very willing to take me.  Mom asked if he wanted to do some trial lessons before he took me full time to make sure I was ready.  He was like, "Oh no, she's ready."  Hah.  So I'm REALLY looking forward to my first lesson (Monday).  I've relearned and rememorized my Burgmuller Etude (the repeated note piece) to play for him.  I might end up playing the Toccata and showing him some Barber stuff I've been working on.  The Barber isn't very good, though, I've just been reading through it every once in a while.  I haven't really worked on it.
During all of this, I realized I can't sightread on piano very well AT ALL.  Sooo, I've been reading as much as I possibly can for the past week.  I think it's helping... I also think a lot of it has to do with my eye sight.  I've got an eyedoctor appointment next week, so maybe that'll help.  I really, really want to make a good (third) impression for Dr. Delony.
We went to see one of his jazz concerts at LSU Friday night with Grimes, the short little Indian drummer, and a saxophone player.  They were sold out, but he got us in free.  Yay.  It was absolutely amazing, of course.

Besides piano, I've been keeping busy helping Shoko out with her community service project.  I've arranged and transcribed a good many pieces.  We've had two performances so far and they've gone well.  We have another tomorrow and two more next week.  Unfortunately our trumpet player won't be able to come the rest of the month, but we're going to make do, I think.  I just hope it works out.

I'm still taking flute from Ms. Swetnam.  It's going pretty good - when I practice, that is.  I hardly ever have the urge to practice flute.  It's always piano, piano, piano.  Meh.

I really love piano.  I definitely wouldn't mind majoring in that one day.  And now, I'm in the perfect position to get a good scholarship for piano.  Add TOPS and a tiger band scholarship on that and you've got a winner.
