Hi, I'm a Christian--just watching the kids while my wife is at dialysis. I've never looked the part of Goth, but I have always loved the music since I was about 13. First thing I ever remember hearing was Depeche Modes Music For the Masses in my cousins ancient toyota supra when I was like 10 or something and slightly before that--when I was at a presbyterian church, at bible school week or whatever I found out some girl--who was miss mack, all dressed in black with rows of silver buttons all down her back(reference to Book of Love song--and I know most guys don't know who book of love is, but this one does), I found out she liked me. So, things progressed and we found ourselves in front of a fence, with holes in it, with a view of the playground on the other side. And she was like, lets not kiss here--she was 13, I was 10 and so on, so we ended up behind a recycle bin newspaper thingy and kiss and it was NASTY. No offence to her, but I didnt know what a real kiss was, but she shows me. Her fave band was depeche mode and she wore all black and that was my proper introduction to Goth. Though, in those days it was called "MOD" or something to that effect.
My testimony--I grew up christian, surrounded by God, but didn't know much about him. Presbyterian church won't really tell you much, cause that's where I went till 18 and I didn't learn a thing about the Lord Jesus Christ or what he had for me and my life. I grew up in a christian Boys home, cause somewhere a long the way I was bad...and at 19 someone showed me--Jesus, God and the Holy Spirit are all the same thing. Before that, the whole Jesus thing didn't make much sence to me. Then later on, I began to ask myself--what happens when you Die? I dont know. So, I looked in to Hary Christna (whatever its called) Satanism and Wicca (witchcraft) and I was a witch for a little bit. But, then I saw a demon (for real) or something very evil in my bedroom--black mist that left drops of water on my bed that eventually evaporated. So, in conclusion--I got in to lots of ghost hunting to figure out what I saw and turning back to christianity, I realized, the more you mess with wanting to see spirits, the more you believe--the more you will see. And guess what--its a switch that cannot be turned off now. I can dim the switch, but even though I am christian I see and feel things all the time. More feel than anything and I tell my wife when it happens. Because of that scary thing I saw once I sleep with a shirt over my face, but when a room or area is particularly bad, I get messed with before I try to sleep--its gets darker in front of my closed eyes and it feels like a blanket of evil has been wrapped around me--its very annoying and sometimes, atleast once so far, they, have tried to pull the shirt off my face--other things have happened, I can't talk about that are far more personal, but just don't go ghost hunting k? Promise me--if you want to see, you will...and like a pringle--once you start, it won't stop...
What is a Christian? Well, there was this guy named adam and this girl named eve and both being responsible people then fell in to sin and because we sin--God said we must Die. But, he sent his Son to die for our sins (Romans 6:23 for the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord) Then theres something cool in the book of Matthew 7:7-8 ask, and it shal be given to you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you: 8 For every one that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be opened.
So, all you have to do is want the Lord Jesus Christ in your life. Trust me, if you remain in his will--that is obey his commandments and don't sin habitually, he will reward you--the bible says to pray without ceasing, it says to lay your treasures up on heaven and not here, it says to be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord.
Which Version of the bible is Correct? Thats simple--The Textus Receptus (latin for received text), the 1611, or the any King James version. And why? Its a matter of the personal pronouns. The NIV is written as if someone were telling you about the word of God. Whereas, the Kings James version is a word for word translation from Greek text--and trust me, they stressed about getting the word of God right, they wanted a GOOD traNslation and werent about to mess it up. The KJVersion of the bible change the way english was written and spoken, because before that everything was Elizabethan super properly written english. So if all the thee's and the thy's and Ye's bug you in the King James verion just look at one statement. thee is a singular personal pronoun meaning God was refering to one person whereas anything with a Y like Ye and God was speaking to more than one person. Just compare for yourself KJV Genesis 3:3 with NIV Genisis 3:3 and you will see that from that, the NIV will throw you way off because it sounds like satan is just talking to EVE. But when you read the kjv, you can see from the proper word for word translation, that Satan is talking to EVE, but is refering to both Adam and EVE. Its the difference in the word YOU (NIV) and YE (KJV)--Ye, meaning both Adam and EVE and yes, it matters--God is not a God of mistakes...
