I always forget that Rachael Ray films right next door to my building. So I was coming back from Wendy's and I noticed police barricades up around the front entrance to our building. I could have gone the back door, but I wanted to force the issue to see what was going on.
I showed my ID to the cops, who eventually relented and let me enter my building. I started walking, and then somebody in charge yelled at me and had the cop who let me through escort me to our doors. So I had a police escort for my chicken sandwich from Wendy's for the eight or nine steps from the curb to our front door. All because John McCain is in a building next door to me, making awkward jokes and (reluctantly) revealing for the first time anywhere that he was a POW and Sarah Palin single-handedly destroyed the Bridge to Nowhere by shooting it from a helicopter.
