Death and Tuna

im posting this here because Im not quite ready to post this on FB...I will probably put it there tomorrow after the fact. Sadly this week has not been the best. Our friend Dennis passed away and there was a small memorial on Thursday. Today there is the more formal event. Sadly today is also the anniversary of my fathers suicide...and no im not over it so dont ask. And well Im sad on both of those accounts...

However what is working me more then anything is the news I have not shared. My sweet 16 year old cat Philo is going to be put down tomorrow. He has stage four kidney disease and heart disease and is extrememly dehydrated. We took him in on Thursday in hopes of a better outcome, but I knew, he is 16 and not subtle about how he feels. So I basically made the call that if my friend isnt going to have much time, the least I can do for him, it so have him die at home. I cant stand the thought of him dying at the hospital and well, he would do it for me.

I didnt share this news because I didnt want to have it in even a tiny way interfere with Dennis's memorials. I went thursday and will go today as well, though I will be having my heart pulled in three directions. I have not shed this many tears since my granmother died 13 years ago. As some of you may know I find it hard to cry...well this experience, this week has been full of tears. I will do a more formal posting regarding Philo tomorrow or Monday when im able.

My hope is to send some of his ashes to Pahrump for Brian and Dusty to burry in their pet cemetary. Even though he never got to meet them, there was a bond there and I think he would love knowing that he had realestate in Nevada.

I will take a tiny bit and sprinkel them over Mt. Soledad...because when he was a kitten I took him there to see the view and he was amazed by the lights it seems fitting...and the rest will stay with me. I've asked him to keep a promise to me...that when it is my time to go that he will come for me...only then will I know its ok....for now well i'll be keeping the dying light lit for onl a little while longer while I say good bye to my friend.
