I GOT A JOB AT IKEA!
Well, I got an email telling me that I have a job but I don't know in what area!
Work was okay today - we were all working on a last-minute wedding job which had to be finished in two days because they paid a $300 express fee.
We also left work half an hour early because we were going to the Kylie Kwong dinner for our Christmas staff function! We all got ready at Lahra's house which was the first time I'd been there since the wallpaper went up & it's absolutely gorgeous. The dinner was at the Parmelia Hilton this time & they hadn't made any effort with decorations or anything so it felt kind of like you were at a conference you didn't want to be at with a bunch of strangers!
This time we had Chinese coleslaw, braised eggplant in chilli & soy, squid with vegetables, steamed chicken with spring onions and hot and sour sauce, steamed red snapper with chilli & lime, chat potatoes marinated in soy & brown sugar (these were the best!) & then lychees with sago.
The food was okay but nothing special. Brian kept making us laugh during the speeches & during question time, a couple of drunken idiots got up & tried to get Kylie into an argument of China vs Australia. The atmosphere wasn't as good as the last time we went to see her & we left right after the dessert.
I have one day of work left (on Saturday) & then a week off to get ready for the wedding.
I can't wait until it's over & we can go on our holiday!
