Blair & Chuck - Bleeding Love - Chapter 4 & Chapter 5 - Rated PG-13

Mar 11, 2009 01:41

Sorry I haven't updated any sooner but I've been going back and forth writing a million different versions of this story trying to figure out which direction I want to take this. Just bare with me. =D

I usually re-read chapters a bunch of times to check for spelling, fix sentences that run too long and make last minute changes but I didn't do that with these chapters. I'm hoping ya'll will still like these two chapters, errors and all

Chapter 4

His cell phone began to ring prompting him to take it out of his pocket. The small screen was blurry to him holding it closer to his face to focus, it was Blair.

“Hey…” slurring his words.

“Are you drunk?”

“No.”

She knew that was a lie. “Where are you?

There was a long silence

“My dad’s apartment…”

“I’m coming over.” she hung up.

She arrived 20 minutes later, walking inside since the door was unlocked she shut the door behind her seeing that the place looked like hell - she stepped over the junk and walked down the hallway stopping in front of Bart’s room seeing Chuck sitting on the floor. He was a mess she thought to herself, she went over to him pulling the bottle of scotch out of his hand and sat down beside him. “What’s wrong?”

“Nothing…everything is just perfect.”

“If things were perfect you wouldn’t be sitting here on the floor of your dad‘s bedroom drunk.” She laid her purse down and took his hand in hers “Did things not go well with your lawyer?”

“I’m getting a hefty settlement, Bart’s journal back and a public apology from the New York Journal.”

“So why aren’t you happy?”

“Why am I not happy?” he chuckled at the thought. “Because my so called father was a cold hearted asshole that wished I was dead and now everyone knows it.” he snatched the bottle back from Blair chugging the rest of it before he pushed himself up off the floor his legs felt like collapsing so he braced himself against a dresser. “He’s dead and yet he still managed to fuck me over.”

Blair shot up following him as he went into the living room. “Chuck you should sit down.”

He obliged and sat down on the couch but only because standing up made him feel like he was a on rollercoaster ride and about to puke.

“Bart didn’t deserve you as a son.” she knelt down in front of him so she could see his face. “You’re a better person than Bart could of ever been.”

He leaned forward resting his face in his hands “No I’m not.”

And there he was….emotionally broken and because of what? His father’s harsh words. Bart was a pro at making Chuck feel worthless. Chuck didn’t deserve to be treated like that. She exhaled a quiet breath pulling his hands away from his face before speaking. “Chuck, you can’t keep doing this to yourself. You’re better than this, you deserve so much more. Your dad might of wished you dead but I don‘t, I want you alive.” she pushed a strand of his hair that fell to his forehead back “In the face of true love you don’t just give up, even if the object of your affection is begging you too.”

Even in his drunken state he knew that she was quoting part of the toast he made at Bart & Lily’s wedding, he raised his head up “You remember that?” she smiled slightly “Of course I do.” she gently kissed his forehead before standing up reaching her hand out to him “Come on, lets get you in bed.” he took her hand and got up slowly following her to his old room holding onto the wall the whole walk to keep his balance. She got him into bed helping him take off his shoes covering him up with the sheets, she took off her own shoes before laying down next to him draping her arm across his stomach she sighed softly watching him fall asleep.

From this moment on
If you ever feel like letting go
I won’t let you fall
You’re never gonna be alone
I’ll hold you until the hurt is gone

Chapter 5

The next day he awoke to one hell of a hangover, he really needed to make a mental note to not drink so much damn scotch back to back. She smiled seeing him awake making her way over to his bed sitting down on the edge of it holding out a glass of water and three aspirins. “Here, take these.” pushing himself up he took the pills popping them in his mouth and downing them with the water.

“Dorota came over to clean up.”

“Why?”

“Because you Mr.Bass tore this place up, everything is in disarray.” He rubbed his temples trying to remember what he had done.

“Miss.Blair you are crazy to call me over to clean! There is so much mess!” Dorota yelled from the living room.

“Less complaining and more cleaning Dorota!”

Dorota huffed “I better be paid more for this!”

Blair rolled her eyes looking back at Chuck “How are you feeling?”

Her question was met with a groan “Like there is a ticking time bomb in my head ready to explode” he scooted back down resting his head on the pillow “I’m sorry about last night. We were suppose to have dinner together.” She shrugged “Another time.”

Running her fingers through his brown hair “Chuck, you should really think about selling this place.”

“I know. It’s hard to let go.” For some stupid childish reason he thought that if he kept it exactly how Bart had left it that one day by some miracle Bart would come back to life and march through the front door and that everything would be okay. Hell maybe Bart would of come back as a better person, a better father. Who was he kidding….

“Some days I’d come here after school and sit in his office for hours.” he paused looking down. “I remember when he’d go to his office sit behind his desk then yell for me to come in to lecture me about how I was more trouble than I was worth.”

She laid across his chest propping her head up with her hand listening to him talk she couldn’t help but feel saddened by his words. “Why didn’t you ever tell me any of this before? It explains how spiteful you could be to everyone, even me.”

“I stayed too high to even think about it much until after he died.”

Blair scooted her body up until she was eye level with him and kissed his check lightly “I’m sorry”

He let out a sigh “But you’re right, I should sell it now.”

“I can help you pack. I’ll get Serena and Nate to come help too. How about tomorrow?”

“Yeah. The sooner the better.”

She flashed him a small sweet smile before getting off of him “Come on lets get you home. You desperately need to take a shower - you reek of scotch.”

“That’s the cologne of choice for the Bass men.” dragging himself out of bed

She scrunched her nose up “It should be discontinued.” he smirked and walked out.

Dorota looked up seeing them come out “What did you do last night Mr.Chuck? Have another crazy party?”

He smiled “You know me, I never pass up a good time.”

“Maybe next time you need to invite maids so they will keep place clean during your crazy parties.”

“If you wanted to attend one of my parties Dorota all you had to do was ask.” Blair giggled at the look on Dorota’s face and watched her continue to clean furiously. “Call when you’re done Dorota.” she grabbed Chuck’s hand and they left.

Arriving at Lily’s Chuck went upstairs to take a shower while Blair went into Serena’s room. Serena plopped down on her bed next to Blair both of them laying on their stomachs with a stack of magazines between them.

“So you never really explained what happened between you and Chuck at Victrola. What exactly did you two talk about?”

Again Blair had the biggest grin on her face thinking about happened after her and Chuck’s talk at Victrola - she looked at Serena and tried to cover her expression fast “Oh. Um. We just talked about Bart. He shockingly let his guard down but it was probably just the scotch talking.”

“Well that’s good to hear. That you two actually talked without killing each other.”

“No casualties”

Serena flipped through a magazine “If I didn’t know you any better B I’d say you still have feelings for Chuck.”

Blair’s eyes widened “No….no I don’t. What would make you say that?” Serena shrugged “It’s just a guess.” “Well it’s a wrong guess.”

Blair flipped through another magazine biting on her lower lip she raised her eyes and looked over at the clock “I should get going.” quickly getting off the bed she grabbed her purse.

Serena looked up “What’s the rush?”

“I have prior engagements. Call you later.” Rushing out of Serena’s bedroom she really was going to leave but…not before she made one stop. She looked around to make sure no one was around before opening the door to Chuck’s bedroom slowly shutting it behind her. She watched him walk out of his closet wearing pants but no shirt she smirked. When he looked up and saw her standing there she went over to him almost making him fall back when she threw her arms around him and kissed him with such great intensity. He parted his lips letting their tongues thrash against each other. They were lost in each other until a knock on the door interrupted both looking towards the door she hid in the closet just in time - the door knob turned and opened revealing that it was Serena. Chuck wiped his mouth with the palm of his hand trying to remove all evidence of Blair’s lip gloss.

“Nate’s here.”

He blocked off the closet leaning against the doorway “Ok, I’ll be down in a minute.” Serena narrowed her eyes at him walking in further “What are you hiding?”

“I’m not hiding anything. I just like to stand here and...uh take in the view.”

She looked at him oddly crossing her arms, “Are you high?”

“Not yet.”

“Did you say anything to Blair at Victrola? She’s been acting weird ever since then.”

“I offered to pay her if she’d sleep with me, she refused and stomped off. Go figure.”

“She should of slapped you.”

“That would of made for great foreplay.”

“You‘re such a pervert..”

“I’ll take that as a compliment, Sis.”

“Ugh...just hurry up and come downstairs.” she shut the door behind her.

Chuck locked his door as soon as she left. Blair came out when the coast was clear and slapped him across the chest playfully “Chuck Bass you are horrible.” He greeted her with a coy smile “What? That’s all I could come up with at the moment.”

“I can’t believe I hid in a closet, I feel like one of those cheap Thai hookers you use to bed.”

He laughed at the thought.
