Reviving My Star Wars Fandom....

I have to admit that it was cool that I got to see Star Wars IV: A New Hope when I was a little girl when it first showed in the theaters (back in '77, mind you: I was four at the time). My aunt Ali, whom, in my opinion, is the coolest aunt around (we're still close and keep in touch), took my older sister Susann and me to go see it. I liked it so much, I wanted to see it again. True, considering my really young age, I was too young to pay attention to the plot, but was in awe of all the action going on on the screen, so I didn't really care. I also developed a little thing for Harrison Ford. Of course, being a little kid at the time and not knowing any better, I always referred to him as "Han".

What led me to revive my Star Wars Fandom is that right now, I'm watching Empire Strikes Back on the Spike Channel. Once I saw Empire (when I was a kid), it knocked A New Hope out of the number one spot on my list of favorite movies. Reason: it showed the romantic tension building between Han and Leia. You'd think I'd be envious, but I thought that they looked cute together and I felt sad when Han was tortured and then put into carbon freeze. *sniff* :(

I remembered getting the Han Solo (12" ?: I think that was actual height, but not sure) action figure as a birthday gift back in the day and was so giddy with happiness. I also had the smaller Han Solo action figure: The Empire Strikes Back one (the one with him in his jacket. Unfortunately, I don't have them anymore. The small one got lost and the bigger one, well...the little accessories, like his gun, belt, etc got lost as well. Looking back, I should've kept them on the figure. Feeling a lot of remorse right now for being dumb and not knowing better. >:( And of course, if the figure was still in its original box, it would've been worth hell of a lot more right now. But, I guess, when you're a kid and you play with the thing....like, a lot, you really don't think of that.

Alright, back to watching Empire.

Later, folks. :)
