Sorry it took a while, but it's here...
Saturday April 5th
Waking up at 6am I only got 4 hours of sleep, but I was way to excited to sleep anymore. After a bagel, a cup coffee, and great company for breakfast, it was time for the writer’s workshop. I’ve never been to anything like it before, and it was fun to sit in a room filled with writers/readers. Carol gave us tips to make our writing better, which was interesting but probably not very useful for me personally as I write when my muse tells me to, it’s really an unconscious process and the writing just flows out of me.
Soon after the workshop Jim Beaver’s Q&A started. Jim was amazed at how interested we were in him and how much we loved Bobby. An online friend of mine who couldn’t come to the convention had asked me to ask Jim if he would be in season 4. So I asked him, and it was only a little bit scary. Jim’s answer was that he didn’t know yet, but he would be in the last two episodes of this season, and he expected to be in season 4. He was funny and sweet just as he was at the Cocktail party the day before, and the 1 hour Q&A was over before I knew it.
Up next was the Roadhouse Q&A with Samantha Ferris, Chad Lindberg and Alona Tal. I was happy that they did a Q&A with the three of them; it was great to watch them play off of each other.
Then was Sandy McCoy’s Q&A, a last minute addition because Jared couldn’t make it to the con on Saturday. Before this convention I had no opinion of Sandy one way or the other. I had never read an interview of her, and the only work I had seen of her was CryWolf and the 5 minutes in Supernatural. All I knew of her was that she is pretty. But in this 45 minute Q&A she blew me away; she’s smart, sweet, and funny and absolutely crazy about Jared. And to top it all off… she’s going back to school in August to get her PhD. Wow, if she wasn’t already engaged to Jared, I would totally marry her.
The last Q&A was Gabriel ‘Gabe’ Tigerman, I’m one of the few people it seems who didn’t care much for his character, so I wasn’t all that interested in his Q&A at first. But Gabe is such a sweetie, he grabbed my interest from the get go. He’s funny, and I enjoyed his Q&A a lot.
After the Q&A’s were the photo ops, I didn’t have any, so I spend the afternoon keeping my friends company who did have a photo ops, wandering through the dealers room, and visiting the guests who where in the autograph room. I got a chance to talk to Steve Carlson, who was very sweet and totally hot, and Sandy, who was just as nice face to face as she was during the Q&A. We were having so much fun we totally forgot about the two panels that were scheduled that afternoon.
For dinner I had asked/begged some people online to join me, since unlike my friends, I didn’t have a ticket for the banquet, and I didn’t want to end up eating dinner alone. I ended up having dinner at a Mexican restaurant in the mall with 4 awesome women. I haven’t had so much fun during dinner in forever; the food was great, the service was good and it was amazing to sit and talk with complete strangers who all loved Supernatural and all read/write fanfic. I sure will never forget it, and at the next EyeCon I hope to be able to do it again.
After dinner was the Platinum Party, which started off with Steve playing two songs, followed by Chad and Gabe playing Guitar Hero. It was fun to watch for a while, after that I listened some to Samantha and talked to Jim for a few minutes. I was disappointed to see that Alona wasn’t there.
The party was followed by Steve’s concert, which was just wow. He was exhausted but still sounded great. He’s got an amazing voice and the things he can do with a guitar…
Afterwards I first went downstairs to make my page for Jared’s scrapbook and then I went up to change for the JP party. So I came down in my pink JP’s and I find a group of people just standing around, not knowing what’s going on with the JP party. It turned out to be a ‘make your own fun’ party, so we did. We talked among ourselves, with the staff, including Kenny who talked a bit about the next EyeCon he wants to do in September, and Gabe came down for a bit to keep us company. Before I knew it, it was almost 2am, and I figured I better go and get some sleep so that I would be conscious for Jared the next day.
